German Spitz Club of America Mission
The German Spitz Club of America, Inc. is established to preserve and promote the heritage, health, athleticism, and natural qualities of the pure-bred German Spitz, including the small, medium, and large varieties as recognized by FCI-approved European registries. Through responsible, selective breeding, the Association seeks to protect the integrity of the breed while striving to bring its natural abilities and characteristics to their highest potential. The Association is committed to advancing the overall well-being of the German Spitz, disseminating accurate and reliable information to both members and the public, and safeguarding the breed’s future as a healthy, versatile companion.
In support of these goals, the Association encourages education, ethical breeding practices, and strict adherence to the AKC-approved breed standard as the sole measure of excellence by which German Spitz are judged. It promotes sportsmanship across all AKC-sanctioned conformation, companion, and performance events, and supports the formation of independent local German Spitz specialty clubs where sufficient interest exists. The Association may conduct sanctioned matches, specialty shows, junior showmanship, performance, and companion events, and remains dedicated to protecting the rights and opportunities of fanciers to own, breed, show, train, and enjoy the German Spitz in all its roles.
